本課程希望使學生熟悉現代科技翻譯─軟體中文化現況相關的理論與實務，明白如何運用網路與軟體的專業技術和科技知識進行翻譯。此外，本課程透過個案分析與課程互動討論，以落實理論與實務的結合，更加貼近業界領域之需求。
課程中將使用翻譯練習軟體, 選取知名軟體廠商之網站、手冊、軟體等片段進行翻譯實作。並將搭配小組討論，以激發翻譯差異之探討。
課程亦將搭配知名翻譯實務界人士進行演講，將藉由示範及演練, 分享過往翻譯經驗，並針對學生未來從業的進路指導。
Through this course, the students are expected to be familiar with the knowledge of the current scenarios of IT translation and Software Localisation services, with a grasp of the overall picture on how to utilize the technical knowledge on the internet as a useful translation aid. Moreover, the students would be required to participate in the case study analysis, hands-on assignments, and the in-class discussion, in order to enhance the connection between theory and practice.
